This is the change log for a minor release of SiteManager. It was released on Oct 29th.

Improvements

  • Added DirectNews integration support. News articles can be pulled in directly from DirectNews XML feeds and used to populate news areas, complete with categories.
  • Added "samecategories" property to all menu types, allowing for related articles in menus.
  • Added "Capitalisation" option to Form Editor. Text fields may now force: UPPERCASE, lowercase, First letter uppercase, First Letter of Every Word Uppercase.
  • Added ability to set default for "Create redirections for pages that have moved?" under Site Settings.
  • Use of the [%shortname%] object syntax now automatically uses [%name%] as a substitute, where [%shortname%] is unspecified.
  • Added low-level support for stripped down HTML ("no style") for core field types: text field, date field, dropdown. Other fields will be added over time.
  • Improved XHTML (Strict) compliance for:
    • <sms:rssgenerator>
    • All text fields
    • All buttons
    • All progress bars (usually used by sets of buttons)
    • All dropdown fields
    • All date fields
  • Significantly increased speed of Templates in use feature.
  • When a page is a shortcut to an external URL, links now point directly to that external URL, not to the page.
  • Replaced CAPTCHA generator, with improved more readable version (from www.recaptcha.net)

Fixes

  • Fixed incompatibility with compiled cached templates and Squid proxy (in Firefox, this used to appear as "The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression").
  • Fixed rare issue where legacy Taos interfaces could display incorrect breadcrumbs (due to deprecated temporal deletions, removed for LA).
  • Fixed issue with the lightbox feature, whereby Flash objects were part of the popped up region in IE (Facebox).
  • Fixed conceptual issue with "is a user" objects, where usernames containing invalid characters would result in a user never being created. Illegal characters are now always stripped out by default.
  • Fixed Javascript error for all legacy popup calendars, including the toolbar panel used by SiteManager for search.
  • Fixed issue where Templates in use feature would crash for very large sites.
  • Fixed issue where copying a page, and then publishing it with "Create redirections" enabled would link the original URL for the copied page to the new URL for the pasted page.
  • Fixed issue where new users wouldn't always have "My files" area created for them, if they didn't have certain permissions. After upgrading to this version, these users will have "My files" areas created for them when they next login.
  • Fixed issue where Designer tab appeared for all users of old SM installs upgraded to SM7.
  • Fixed the <sms:resetpassword> component not setting a new password.
  • Fixed the popup HTML editor not opening at a suitable size in IE8 when automated handling of tabs was enabled.
  • Fixed pagination not working for <sms:custommenu>
  • Fixed some issues with audio players not working.
  • Fixed Category view not displaying member objects.
  • When clicking the Save & Publish button, the default setting for "Create redirections for pages that have moved?" is now applied. Previously using this feature would never create redirections.
  • Site Settings screen no longer displays an empty final tab if the eAlerts and Media Pool Adjuncts are not enabled.
  • Fixed PHP4 compatibility issue with SSL logins not flagging cookies as 'secure' (this feature is unsupported by PHP4, attempting to invoke it caused SM to fail to set cookies at all).

Other changes

  • XML Sitemap file now specifies additional XML prolog (based on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sitemaps)
  • The disablecategory attribute is no longer deprecated for the <sms:search> component.
  • Installer / upgrader no longer automatically deletes legacy discussions if the legacy discussion Adjunct is not enabled.
  • XML prolog is now optional.
  • Forms no longer have an inline CSS style to cancel out margins or padding.
  • Slightly improved usability of Categories in old Taos editor.
